I am Nevil Shute's daughter. I was born in York, England, where we had our 2009 conference. In 1950, I emigrated to Australia, following my family. In 1963, I married an American, Donald Mayfield, and came to the States that year. We lived in the San Fernando Valley, in the Los Angeles area of California, where we reared a "Valley Girl", Jennifer, and her brother, Keith. I did all the usual things while the children were growing up - PTA, library, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts,etc. Each of the children has given us 2 grandchildren. We now live in Oregon. My hobbies are reading, (I started our book club in 1999) swimming, and a couple of women's groups.
