This timeline was created at the suggestion of Stephanie Gallagher and I'm sure she expected to receive a nice short document and not 11 pages. I have enjoyed creating it. In the timeline I have attempted to include every verifiable date connected with Nevil Shute. Nevil Shute's real name was Nevil Shute Norway. For the purposes of simplicity, in this document Nevil Shute Norway is referred to by his pen name Nevil Shute and consequently I refer to his wife and children as the Shute family when in fact they were the Norway family. However, just to really confuse things, I refer to his parents and brother as the Norway family. I apologise to any annoying pedants. Where I have a year but no Month or Day I have grouped those events at the beginning of that year unless I am certain it was in the middle or at the end.
