Joost has been an enthusiast for the novels of Nevil Shute since his teens.

He discovered Nevil Shute by accident when as a teenager he found a Dutch translation of Pastoral in a second hand bookshop. Since than he has read all of Nevil Shute's book. Now, in his early 50's, he still enjoys Shute's books very much and finds them a great relaxation after work.

Joost lives with his family in Enschede, in The Netherlands.
